Wendell and I have
always had an affinity to eating off the land! We do not like to buy
meat but to eat fish and meat from the woods and rivers of our great
Arkansas. This food is so much healthier than buying hormone induced red
meat. We also like picking our own fruits and vegetables. Our latest
healthy endeavor has been picking wild blackberries off the hill farm. In
addition in our yard at Oak Leaf, we have several peach trees, apple
trees, a plum, apricot, and cherry tree. After we pick the bounty from
these vines and trees, we freeze the rest. From the farm we pick
blackberries, possum grapes and persimmons. We also gather walnuts and
pecans.
Because of a life long interest in good nutrition, I began a
cooking wild game and wild food web site on Yahoo in January 1999.
